Department The Site Geleen encompasses 7 plants, including 2 Naphtha crackers, a Logistics unit, a Polypropylene and 2 Polyethylene units. The Naphtha crackers produce 1,250,000 tonnes of ethylene and 675,000 tonnes of propylene which are mainly used as feedstock for the successive poly-olefins plants. Our polyethylene product range includes all of the commodity thermoplastic polymers, linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE), low density polyethylene (LDPE), and high density polyethylene (HDPE). The polypropylene product range includes block copolymer and specialty automotive grades. Structure Site Geleen On the site we have a clear split between Running Business (short term) and Site Improvements (long term). Site Services supports all these departments. The Running Business is responsible for a safe and maximum production. Site Improvements is responsible for the right project proposals to improve the production process, including process integrity and safety, and for the implementation of the project proposals. The purpose of Site Services is to service all departments in an efficient; transparent and customer friendly way. The Site Management Team consists of the Site Director; Directors of Running Business; Site Improvements and Site Services. Traineeship Process Control Engineer Engineers with no or with limited work experience mainly start in our Traineeship. The goal of this Traineeship is to get acquainted with SABIC Europe, its culture and organization and to get ready for the “real” job. The traineeship has a leadtime of 1.5 year and consists of two technical trainee periods, containing the following items: Training on the job and additional training and courses Doing two projects, one within olefins and one within poly-olefins Getting to know the SABIC Manufacturing organization & people (Running Business, Site Improvements and Site Services) Getting to know the several plants (different sizes, technologies, problems etc.) Getting to know the culture Getting challenged on your personal competences Running an experience event The Challenge Our Process Control Engineers are involved in maintenance and ongoing improvements of plant reliability and integrity. They organize and manage these projects independently and contract out the implementation to the Maintenance department or to contractors with whom we have a long-term relationships. Ou Process Control Engineer act within different aspects of process control engineering. They optimize the philosophy to control our (poly-)olefin plants on a safe, reliable & cost-efficient way and deliver improvement studies & proposals in the process control domain. Within the discipline Process Control you have the opportunity to apply your thorough knowledge of process technology combined with process control equipment (DCS sysems, APC, Aspentech, SIL/SIS regulations, MES) You are able to perform FMEA and RCA’s in order to define root causes and to propose actions in order to prevent re-occurring. Their main responsibilities are: to solve and troubleshooting technical problems to improve the production process regarding Capacity & Capability, Reliability & Availability and Integrity & Compliancy to formulate the technical policy regarding equipment Integrity and reliability in which installations can be operated to determine predictive & preventive maintenance plans for running business assets to set up and monitor the budget regarding predictive, preventive & break-down maintenance to set up and implement improvement projects within budget, on-time and in accordance to corporate and legal requirements to conduct investigations, route cause analyses and studies to support and advise the management in maintaining safety and integrity to stimulate and work together in multidisciplinary teams Your Profile You are finishing or have just finished your Master of Science in applied physics or advanced process control engineering You are a good communicator and you have well developed social skills You have excellent analytical skills, you can switch between conceptual and detailed level You show ownership and you are eager to reach the agreed results You are fluent in English and preferably also in Dutch, or you are willing to learn Dutch Further Information For this position SABIC Europe is offering excellent primary and secondary working conditions.
