As senior originator, together with your team, you will be responsible for bringing in valuable origination deals within Central Europe (Germany, Alps and France) for Vattenfall Energy Trading (VET). You will be considered as key knowledge provider of local/regional markets to the department Asset Optimization and Trading within VET. In this position, you will report to the Head of Origination & Sourcing. Where are you going to work Asset Optimization and Trading (AOT) is the Business Division where all Asset Optimization and Trading activities are centralized for the Vattenfall Group. Our activities are multi-site across Europe with more than 600 professionals working from Sweden, Germany, The Netherlands, Denmark and Poland. We trade the full range of energy commodities such as electricity, gas, oil, coal, freight, renewable energies and emissions. And take responsibility for a diversified sourcing of power, fuels and carbon credits. Also we optimise the running and hedging of Vattenfall’s generation assets. These efforts are the basis for maximum profitability and continuous business growth. What you will do You will develop the group’s strategy for the origination market Central Europe. Also you will originate valuable stand alone transactions not necessarily directly related to the Vattenfall Portfolio. To originate new valuable transactions according to the needs of Vattenfall’s portfolio and in line with Vattenfall’s strategy. You will be part of setting up and managing a professional team of originators. Equally you will be responsible for sharing market knowledge and social network with team and organization. Finally, you will liaise with Risk management, Trading, Mid-Office, Credit and Finance within Asset Optimization and Trade. What we are looking for Excellent knowledge of all relevant energy markets; Experience with deal structuring & deal making; A proven track record in a similar role within the energy or banking sector; Master of Science or higher; Ability to show leadership and initiative in building businesses; High standard of written and spoken German and English.
