Product Development Specialist – SF&S
Department The Business Unit Specialty Films & Sheets (SF&S) produces film and sheet products out of SABIC-IP’s resins, mainly Lexan* resin. Many versatile market segments are served including automotive, displays, building & construction, aircraft and rail. The SF&S T&I team in Bergen op Zoom is supporting many sheet and film Technology activities. The team works on NPI and Platform programs and supports the SF&S business by lab evaluations, extrusions, color developments, B&C evaluations, customer & plant support. We are looking for a fulltime Product Development Specialist to strengthen our Product Development team. The Challenge Lead sheet product development programs for the Building and Construction segment. Identify and grow understanding on new sustainable product opportunities. Drive platform developments of innovative sustainable solutions for B&C, including the integration of solar technologies in SF&S sheet and film products. Offer in-depth technical support to (larger) architectural projects. Understand SF&S product portfolio capability and utilize know-how to advice customers, i.e. architects, installers. Global cross-functional interaction with technology, commercial, product management and manufacturing teams. Your Profile Masters or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial / Architectural Design. Dependant on personality and education this can be an entrance level role or a role for someone with 3 – 5 years of relevant working experience. Experience or knowledge of building & construction. Experience or knowledge of solar technologies and/or markets is a strong advantage. Affinity with FEA-CAD analyses. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
