Electrical Domain Consultant
Department Your job will be in the Manufacturing Competence Center, part of the Global Manufacturing Center of Excellence. The mission of this department is to support the SABIC Manufacturing organization with the globally available knowledge on several areas of expertise, of which electrical expertise is based in the department called Electrical Domain. When fully operational this department will have 7 to 10 full time employees and more than 30 employees, locally organized on the global SABIC sites, who support the Domain with up to 30 % of their time. The Challenge The Electrical Domain consultant is responsible for achieving safe operation and optimum Electrical asset utilization across all SABIC sites worldwide, through: Expertise deployment for solutions & improvements Development and deployment of world class practices and functional expertise Identifying improvement opportunities through internal and external networks Networking & knowledge management and sharing The position requires strong technical expertise and excellent interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills to support the Electrical engineers through the Global Manufacturing Competence Center for the development of best technical solutions to meet business needs and drive business results. This role will work closely with Site Manufacturing, Maintenance & Technical departments, business units and business functions. Your Profile Expertise requirements: Minimum 10 years experience as an Electrical Engineer (BS/MS) including cost/benefit analysis, technical design, implementation, commissioning, start-up, maintenance, sustainability, trouble shooting, failure analysing and overhaul dedicated to Medium Voltage and Low Voltage Electrical Power distribution installations area of expertise, with proven experience on project execution, operation and maintenance related to: Switchgear technology and related global industry standards and practices (IEEE, IEC) Design studies on power network analysis and protection coordination, being able to calculate estimate electrical values without tools. Switchgear Equipment specification safety/cost/benefit analysis and selection Equipment characteristics of global operating manufacturers of switchgear and protection systems Substation automation and interaction with process control systems Degradation and failure mechanisms of different kind of switchgear. Dynamic calculation of motor response to electrical network quality The candidate must show: Contribution to RCA on expertise area failures Coordination of Start up of electrical facilities after a total power outage, and FMEA review of equipment in relevant areas of expertise Arc flash hazards mitigation knowled Project Leadership Demonstrated excellent organizational, prioritization project management and time management skills, set priorities and meet deadlines Demonstrated ability to prioritize and make trade off decisions based on key business drivers. Demonstrated self-starter and ability to develop a strategy and execute tactically. Global Team Leadership Demonstrated self-starter and ability to develop a strategy and execute tactically. Travel for this role is 30-50%, depending on the location.
